Head Over Heels the Musical is a Shakespearian jukebox musical that explores love of all kinds and embracing your true self.
This was my first production as crew and on costumes, it opened up my love for theatre and I look back on it with fond memories.
I worked mainly on the making of personal props/ clothing, with items like the sheep ears, the snake puppets, mermaid bikini tops, the owl capes, and Musidrous's Golden Stag disguise. I also worked on many of Pythio's costumes including Pythio's owl cape, Pythio's ending cape, and ending skirt. For the owl cape, I hot glued sequence and hand sewed beads upon the bottom of the cape to create a small gradient, for the ending skirt I made flounces out of organza and black lace to create the fluffy look, and for the ending cape- one of my favorite costume pieces I've made to date- I made a half circle out of triangle organza pieces, then made wrist cuffs and collar with leftover Mardigras beads and hot glue, making sure to add fabric to the back to reduce skin irritation and finally handing the cuffs, collar, and purple boa on as they were all too thick to be machine sewed.
